Portfolio- Museum & Other Exhibit Displays-SOLD The "Golden Standard" Naval Gun Carriage |
Texas Military Forces Museum Camp Mabry - Austin, Texas is an official museum of the Texas National Guard. In 2012 I built a naval gun carriage (circa 1836) for the museums operational gun tube that is a replica of the “Golden Standard”—a 12 pounder brass gun captured at the battle of San Jacinto. |
After the "Golden Standard" was captured it was used on a ship of the Texas Navy. The museum contracted me to come back to create and build a new 15'X 15' naval ships bulkhead with mast display within the museum for there new 2013 expansion. The "Golden Standard" cannon carriage that I built here will also be moved in and used in this new display.
