Portfolio- Museum & Other Exhibit Displays- SOLD The Bell Limber Keene, TX |
The Bell Limber Here is something different! A potential customer came to me asking if I would be interested in a unique project. He had a 120 year old bronze bell that came out of a college somewhere in Central Texas. He is extremely patriotic and wanted to ring the bell in honor of our military forces. The problem was he didn’t have a way to pull it in parades. The bell is 18” tall and weighs 105 lbs. He wanted to mount it somehow on a cannon carriage. I thought about it a day and suggested that it might be better suited mounted on a modified cannon limber. I did a rough drawing of what I had in mind and he liked it. The end product turned out nice. It can easily be pulled by two people or a handy trailer hitch coupler can be mounted and then the limber could be pulled by a four wheeler or even a golf cart. The top rail supports the bell underneath and six flags above. The flags represent the Army, Navy , Airforce, Marines, MIA’s and an American flag. His intention is to pull it in parades and ring the bell once for every flag. I was honored to help with this project. |
